QUALITY OF HIGHLIGHTING

HOW TO HIGHLIGHT :

• Donot use single colour highlighter use different types of highlighter with clear objectives.
• Assign each colour for a soecific purpose this will create a colour coding system
• It will help you alot during examination time and your material will be easier to understand and learn

      a) Apply it to a text ---

•  Use light colours when highlighting a text book for diffent topics use light green colour
•  These marking will help you in preparing notes as per your requirements.

      b) System to Highlight a Text page

• For Headlines use Pink colour
• For Terminology and vocabulary use Blue
• Definitions and explanations of terminology use Green colour
• For writing examples use Orange colour
• To highlight miscellaneous and marking other thing use Yellow

SOME WAYS TO ANNOTATE TEXT :

• Circle the word ---- whose meaning you donot know
• Underline Important Word , Ideas , Concept and Themes.
• Make Notes on one corner of the Notebook with proper marking
• In the end try to analyse the central idea of the topic with which you are finding difficulties

 TEXT BOOK READING GUIDE / ADVICE :

• Stop highlighting while reading use pencil to mark the important line . When you will convince that those few lines are very important at that time use highlighter.
• Summarize what you have read on your own words and then generate materials in your own words. Teach someone else or try to discus the topic with friends or elder or younger ones or summarize each section after reading . It will stay in your memory longer if you think about it .
